Frequently Asked Questions
What age should I start puppy training?
The optimal time to begin puppy training is as early as possible—ideally when your pup is between 8 and 16 weeks old. This window represents the critical socialization period when puppies are most receptive to learning new skills, meeting other dogs, and experiencing new environments. Early intervention prevents undesirable behaviors from becoming habits and sets the foundation for lifelong obedience.
How long does puppy training take?
Training timelines vary based on the program and your puppy’s individual needs. Our Basic Marker Mastery™ program runs 4 weeks, while basic obedience training typically involves 4 lessons. Factors influencing duration include your puppy’s age, breed characteristics, consistency of practice at home, and specific goals like aggression or anxiety management. Most puppies show significant improvement within the first few weeks of structured training.
Do you offer training for puppies with behavioral issues?
Yes, we offer specialized training options for puppies displaying aggression, anxiety, or reactivity. Our 8-lesson Basic & Advanced Obedience program addresses these challenging behaviors, and our 3 Week Behavioral Board & Train provides intensive on-leash training for higher reactivity cases. While major issues may require ongoing management, early intervention produces the best outcomes for your puppy’s mental health and safety.
