Frequently Asked Questions About Dog Training in Chancellorsville, VA
What type of dog training is best for my dog?
The right option depends on your dog’s age, temperament, training history, behavior, and your goals. Current choices include private obedience lessons, in-home obedience, Basic Marker Mastery™, puppy-training options, Board & Train, aggression or anxiety training, virtual training, and Therapy Dog Preparation.
A free phone consultation can help identify an appropriate starting point.
How long does dog training take?
Program length varies. Current options range from a single consultation or virtual lesson to private programs lasting four or eight lessons and Board & Train programs lasting one, two, or three weeks.
Progress depends on the dog, program, training goals, home environment, and owner follow-through. No specific outcome or completion timeline is guaranteed.
Can you help with leash reactivity, barking, or anxiety?
Available options include an eight-lesson Aggression/Anxiety program for aggression or reactivity around other dogs and a three-week Behavioral Board & Train for eligible dogs with high reactivity or significant anxiety.
The appropriate option depends on the dog’s history and behavior. Complete resolution of major behavior concerns cannot be guaranteed.
Do you offer off-leash training?
Certain programs include off-leash recall or heel work. The 3 Week Behavioral Board & Train is on-leash only.
Training does not make every environment appropriate for off-leash activity. Owners must follow posted rules, local leash requirements, and applicable park regulations.
